Thera Pendant

The view is stunning from the top of Mesa Vouno, Santorini. The Dorians arrived at this rugged, wind-swept spot in the 8th century BC. They were led by the Spartan King Theras, who established a colony and named the Island Thera in his own honor. Before then it had been known as Kallisti, meaning ‘most beautiful’.
